Naomi Lay appeared as a contestant on Series 3 of the British version of the show.

A consistent performer in tasks, with a long streak of wins (bar a loss where she was PM), she was considered to have had little to offer, and was fired in Week 10.

Profile[]

Born in Cornwall, and having graduated from University College London with a 2:1 in Modern European studies, and being fluent in French and Spanish, as she had spent some time studying at the Sorbonne in Paris and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (not to mention Sierra Leone and Russia off of her father's back since he works there as a diamond and gold miner) - she began work as a personal assistant. In her own words, "people that know me would describe me as loud, motivated, fun, determined, compassionate and energetic"[1].

Apprentice[]

Naomi was considered to have performed well across the series yet didn't stand out. She was fired in Week 10 due to her poor product selection for the TV sales task, and Lord Sugar feeling that, out of the three brought into the boardroom, she had the least to offer. This decision has been branded as unfair as, on the basis of that task, some suggest eventual winner Simon should have been fired, not least due to his innuendo-laden sale of a small trampoline. Lord Sugar has also suggested he agrees that, on the basis of that task the decision was unfair, but also that over the ten weeks, Naomi had not impressed him in the slightest, and that Naomi was "incredibly lucky" to have advanced so far into the competition without being fired, with a streak of wins.

Post-Apprentice[]

After the show, Naomi returned to Cornwall, only to find that she was incessantly being talked about on her local radio station (BBC Radio Cornwall). Naomi became one of the judges on the Radio Cornwall Singing Sensation competition[more information 1] at the Royal Cornwall Show, and is now a Sales Team Manager for Advertising.com.
